Heartland Educational Consortium celebrated its 20th year of serving the small and rural districts of our region at Lake Placid High School, our keynote speaker was Dr. Lisa Dieker with a presentation on "Teaming for Success: Inclusive Practices to Close the Achievement Gap."
FCR-STEMLearn Summer Institutes
Heartland Educational Consortium is offering a 2-week Elementary Mathematics Professional Development Opportunity with FCR-STEMLearn and FSU for teachers and instructional coaches. This program focuses on effective mathematics teaching and learning in the elementary classroom.
Heartland Educational Consortium is partnering with FCR-STEM at FSU to offer six different Integrated STEM Summer Institutes around the state. Two are offered here at the consortium: Geometry and Diversity & Ecology, while others are offered in Orlando, Pembroke Pines, or Jacksonville.
Math Professional Development Opportunity
Heartland Educational Consortium is partnering with CPALMS to offer a one-day workshop for Grades 6-12 Math and Science teachers on developing Model Eliciting Activities.

C@mp IT is a free summer technology event for Okeechobee and Heartland Educational Consortium area educators. Two days of technology infused sessions, workshops, and keynotes are intended to initiate collaboration and spark interest in new and effective uses of technology as well as provide guidance in using our existing technology tools. The annual technology conference is produced by OCSB IT Department with the support of our host school, Osceola Middle School, and companies that will be present at our vendor hall.

CONFERENCE HONORING FLORIDA’S TOP STEM STUDENTS
The two-day awards and recruitment event celebrates the accomplishments of these elite students and provides a unique venue for Florida's colleges and universities to recruit their talents.
The Sunshine State Scholars program is made possible by a partnership between the Florida Education Foundation, the Division of Florida Colleges, the State University System of Florida, and the Florida Department of Education. Event sponsors of this year's program include AT&T, Helios Education Foundation, Universal Orlando Resort, Blue Man Group Orlando, Atkins, Gulf Power Company, The Florida Lottery, and Nestlé Waters North America.
